Message from Pastor
These are my favorite places in Six Mile:
-
Red, White, and Brew,
-
The Scoop,
-
Bryson Children’s Nature Walk, and
-
Ridgeland Drive Baptist Church.
As I see it, my favorite Six Mile places have three things in common.
-
They are decidedly local (no absentee owners or corporate strings attached).
-
They focus on doing what they do well (instead of trying to be all things to all people).
-
And they attract folks who share an interest in what they have to offer (regardless of the differences that so often divide people these days).
Here’s what I’ve found Ridgeland Drive Baptist Church has to offer.
-
A warm welcome without partiality or favoritism (James 2:1)
-
A caring and supportive community that bears with one another and forgives each other (Colossians 3:13)
-
A congregation of teaching and fellowship, of breaking bread and praying together (Acts 2:42)
-
A gathering for worship that is neither stuck in old traditions nor sold out to what is new (Matthew 13:52)
While serving gladly for fourteen years as an interim pastor in churches in North and South Carolina, it never occurred to me that God would call me “off the road” to a church I had never heard of. But here I am. Gladly.
If I can interest you in a good cup of coffee, a scoop or two of ice cream, a nature walk, or a wonderful little church, be in touch with me. I’d love to meet you at one of my favorite places in Six Mile.
